The CAN Pro-Am is a special weekend that brings together fundraisers for autism with some of the greatest Canucks legends to play the game. Teams have the opportunity to fundraise for the cause with the biggest achievers earning the right to draft their favourite alumni.
The weekend shoot had us going full throttle from start to finish beginning with the draft and culminating in the big all-star game. There was always something going on with games’ start times overlapping on three separate arenas. For us, this meant choosing marquee moments to focus our efforts while otherwise splitting up to cover more ground. Careful planning and communication were involved with not just our team but the team at the Canucks Autism Network to ensure that we were stationed where the action was.
The Sedins, Todd Bertuzzi, Kirk McLean, and so many other Canucks greats in attendance, we also wanted to capture as many interviews as possible. Coordinating with staff, we secured several formal interviews while managing to pull several more for more candid sessions as well. As one might imagine, the players were incredibly gracious with their time and it added so much to hear from community heroes like these.
